Consistently eluding the traffic jam of laptop junkies in the electronic music realm, .you. takes it all back to the power of the home multitracker and the aesthetic thrill of live performance. Influenced by deaths, malfunctions, breakups, breakdowns and breakbeats .you.'s debut album "i am you " calls forth everything from IDM to downtempo to electro to glitch to experimental to whatever aptly named cliche that is flooding the market these days-- all through an ambient scope. Completely free of computerized sampling and manipulating, "i am you" was recorded entirely on an 8 track using a veritable aresenal of analog synthesizers and drum machines.
