"This CD single features the full versions of Open Your Mind and Negai, both songs from the new (2005) anime series Ah! My Goddess. Open Your Mind is the opening theme, while Negai is the closing theme. It also features karaoke (instrumental) tracks of both songs, making a total of four audio tracks.



Instead of going with the Goddess Family Club to sing these themes, Miss Yoko Ishida sings these songs. She is a very talented singer, and fits the mood perfectly with her voice.



Open Your Mind ~Chiisana Hane Hirogete~ (Spread Your Small Wings) has a Celtic feel to it, which fits the series as it has plenty of allusions to Norse Mythology. It's softer compared to the opening theme of the OVA, and not as mega-upbeat, but it's a very beautiful piece, partially written by the music composer for the series as well. This is a surprise, since most OP and ED songs are /not/ composed by the series composers.



Negai (which means "Wish") is a very different type of song, and is very upbeat. I'm not sure which genre to put it under, but most fans will have to get used to it before they really like it. This song is really either a hit-or-miss with most people, but it does grow on you if you give it a chance.



The karaoke tracks feature background vocals, especially for Open Your Mind. This either pleases or displeases some people, but they're there."
