I remember many many nights falling asleep listening to it. I'm 18 now (and I suppose I ought to be listening to Ludacris and Lil John) and have rediscovered the magic of Zamfir. I was looking for something instrumental to study by one night and stumbled across a track by Zamfir. The name struck a chord and I found myself listening to the same music my parents played years ago.
The selection of songs on this album is particularly good. "Art of the Violin" is the one I remember most clearly from my childhood, along with "Yesterday." Funny how things turn out--after growing up with Zamfir's "Yesterday," I became a fanatical Beatles fan in my teens--with no memory of Zamfir's version! Now I seem to be getting back to my roots, as I've fallen in love with Zamfir all over again!" |
