"You have to be a real jazz junkie to be looking at this - so maybe you won't mind the poor recording quality with volume ebbing and flowing and poor mike placement. No doubt a bootleg. Naked City Records' address is in Tijuana by the way.



If you're a huge Zoot Sims fan, like me, you'll find some good out of this questionable purchase - I mean where else are you going to find the Al Cohn-Zoot Sims Quintet recorded at The Half Note in 1965? And Zoot swings as usual with this well rehearsed quintet.



But may I refer you to Zoot Sims Quadromania; Zoot!; Zoot Sims Plays Alto, Tenor & Baritone; Quietly There; That Old Feeling and many many more for the better of Zoot Sims. There's a very nice 2-disc set out now with most, if not all, the legitimate Al Cohn-Zoot Sims Quintet recordings - highly recommended. I think it's called "The Complete Al Cohn & Zoot Sims Quintet"."
