I really get hooked on My Best Friends Wedding soundtrack, the story of us soundtrack, and I really like So I married an axe murderer. i think soundtracks are just the best because i don't like to listen through a whole cd of just one artist. ya know???

"The Bridges of Madison County." I heard the soundtrack before I saw the movie and then found out that some of the tracks are just snippets of sound in the very far background of the action. For that and other reasons I was disappointed in the film, but I still love the soundtrack recording.

I love so many of the tv soundtracks of recent years. That Buffy soundtrack mentioned is great. Also Veronica Mars has great music. I am presently looking worldwide for a copy of Jim Parkers, "The Best of Midsomer Murders". Which is not only got really great music but is a great show (if your like British mysteries). If anyone sees this cd available anywhere please let me know. Amazon UK no longer has it available. New or used. Thanks.

Musical would be "Phantom of the Opera"& Movie is "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" That movie is the greatest.

I'm old....and this tells it.. favorite sound tract is from Saturday Night Fever. Love it love it. And for a country sound tract you can't beat Pure Country. Visions of John Travolta dancing in the first CD and there's no man prettier than George Strait. ha
I love all kinds of music. I figure life is too short to spend it with just one kind, right?
God bless everyone! Pamela G.

anyone ever heard the soundtrack to "i am sam"? it's the only all killer no filler soundtrack i've come across. usually soundtracks are either 1/4 or 1/2 good and the rest is just crap. check it out if you haven't, it's made up of beautiful beatles covers by the likes of aimee mann and michael penn, ben harper, eddie vedder, rufus wainwright, sarah mclachlan, nick cave, to name a few.

While I love my Phantom of the Opera, Rent and (like Sarah) The Producers. The one that stand out is the soundtrack to the movie "Woman On Top." It's got a very mellow Brasilian bossa nova sound throughout and it's the one thing I can listen to on repeat whether working or relaxing. Everyone I've played it for so far likes it. ('Course, so far it's only been played for my grandparents and others of their generation!)embarassed I didn't like the movie, but the songs were so sweet and romantic! Of course, I've lost it and am now stuck hoping someone will post it! Anyone got any leads? wink

The all time best soundtrack has got to be RENT! Last year the cd player in my car wasn't working right. It would only play my RENT! cd. NO PROBLEM!!! It may have been broken, but it still had good taste. Other than that I LOVE Once More, With Feeling. Especially Spike and Tara's songs. My other favorite soundtracks are Camp, Top Gun and Footloose. I was also hooked on the Pretty Woman soundtrack for a while. It's still on my mp3 LOL.

I own a few dozen soundtracks, and the best is Blade Runner... I always used to put it on when I got migraines, to help me feel better.

Other great ones include Star Trek The Motion Picture, Army of Darkness, Lord of the Rings, Fight Club, and The Sword & the Sorcerer--all great movies!

I also like music from games, like Warcraft II, Doom, Alter Echo, and Beyond Divinity.

Suprisingly I like the Pump Boys and Dinettes.  It is fun and tells the story (even tho I generally don't like country type music).    Putting together a flavor of the month greatest hits or music that the label is trying to sell is too thinnly veiled.

But damn, the Producers is a riot now that I read the posting above !

Some of my favorites are soundtracks to Edward Scissorhands, Gettysburg, Last Of The Mohicans, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Piano, The Bridges of Madison County, Fiddler On The Roof (the movie), Camelot, Dr. Zhivago, and Saturday Night Fever. That one I have as a double album set - somewhere.
