Help Center - How to use the Club Wish List

The Club Wish List is the list of all CDs currently being wished for by SwapaCD members (all of the CDs currently on SwapaCD Wish Lists).  You can search the Club Wish List by placing your cursor over Search in the toolbar at the top of the site, and clicking Club Wish List in the menu that drops down.

How to use the Club Wish List

• Searching the Club Wish List:  There are three  Search fields on the Club Wish List page.
  • Keyword search:  You can enter the UPC, title, artist, genre, recording label, recording year, keyword in the description...just about anything goes here.  Then click Search
    • remember to check the tracklist and attributes (what inserts are being requested) on any search results!  The Wish List matches CDs according to title/artist AND tracklist and attributes.
  • Title search:  Click any letter or number in the list to see all Wished for items whose titles begin with that character.

  • Genre search: Choose the genre from the dropdown menu, then choose subgenre from the field that appears to the right.  Then click Go.
• Posting a CD from the Club Wish List:
  • If you see an item on the Club Wish List whose ttitle/artist AND tracklist and attributes all match the CD you are offering, you can click .
  • You will be asked to confirm that you are sure the listing matches the CD you are offering
    • If not, you must not post this CD this way!  You will need to post it from the Post CDs area to ensure that you are posting the correct CD
    • Posting a Wish Listed CD that you don't have is against SwapaCD rules, and if the requestor marks this as a Problem (Wrong CD) transaction, you will have to give the credit back!

Tips for Using the Club Wish List:

• If you post a CD that you see on the Club Wish List, but it is not offered to a wishing member immediately after posting:
  • This means that the title/artist AND tracklist and attributes on your CD do not ALL match the CD that is being Wished for.
  • Some members are looking for specific versions of CDs, or they want only CDs that include the inserts. 
  • It is not okay to post your CD incorrectly (using the wrong tracklist) in order to match an item on the Club Wish List.  if you do, the requestor will probably be disappointed, will mark your CD as a Wrong CD Received, and you will have to give the credit back.  Too many problem transactions will jeopardize SwapaCD membership, so be sure to post your CDs correctly!
• If you have an alternate version of an item on the Club Wish List (for example, you are offering DIsc Only, but someone is wishing for that CD with inserts included):
  • All members on the Wish List for that CD will get an alert email offering them your CD with fewer inserts than they had specified.
    • You can't contact a Wishing member directly to ask if your version would be acceptable to them; we feel this would cause chaos, with members getting PMs from other members about CDs with a different tracklist, or fewer inserts than they stated they wanted
    • But you can "advertise" your CD in the CD Bazaar Discussion Forum: post a topic there with the title of the CD and the words "Disc Only" (or whatever the situation is) in it and most likely your CD will be snapped right up!
